The highs and lows

Quite a bit has happened since my last blog post, but most folks already know about the events, here is a recap from my POV.

Things are going ok, but having three kids is definitely starting to show just how little time I have left in my life to focus on other things outside of family.

Work is going ok, but not great. I am hearing the news that I am not meeting the requirments of my new role week before last. It is an incredibly hard message to hear, but something that I am sure everyone hears at least once in their life, right? My bosses are completely understanding, and are really being amazing about helping me come out on top, so I am thankful for that, but it is still one of the hardest things in the world to hear that I am not great at what I do for a living. I was so valuable in my last role, that now being at the bottom end of that pole is like tearing a peice of my soul out of my body. I just don't have the same amount of time in my life right now, to put in the same amount of time that others do, so I have to find a way to be triply as productive as the rest of the folks I work with... and my brain still doesn't quite function 100% given I don't get good sleep consistantly. This last week though, I have come to terms with the fact that my family is much more important then work, and right now is their time. It will be works time again...

On top of getting that news delivered to me week before last, all the kids were sick. Ty stayed home Tuesday, then the girls came down with it late Wed. early Thursday. By Saturday Shyann was still running a consistent fever, so into the doctors we went. The doctors looked in their ears and listened to their lungs. Ended up Shyann had a double ear infection, and Savanna sounded really clogged up in her lungs. They did an O2 test on her, and sure enough, O2 stats were below 90%. They did an O2 test on Shyann just to be safe and sure enough, she was below 90% as well. So to Childeren's hospital we go. We sat in the ER for a good 6-8 hours as they monitored mostly Savanna (Shyann went above 90% consistently while we were in the ER). Everytime Savanna would start to go off to sleep, her O2 stats would drop below 90% again, so checking into the hospital was a requirement for the night. Shyann and Ty stayed with Grammie and Poppi for some good cuddle time.

We woke up Sunday morning and I call my parents to find out Trevor and Tamara are in labor... YEA, but OH NO, I am in the hospital. Luckily Savanna did great throughout the night and her O2 stats never dropped below 90 again, so we got to go home early. We finally got out of the hospital and home by about 1-2pm. I got all the kids to bed once we got home, and then layed down myself. After about 20 minutes of resting I get a call from Trevor that Tamara's contractions were consistent and they were headed into the hospital. I jump up and head into the hospital with them. By about 9pm Tamara was starting to push, and I was preparing to video tape. By 9:59pm Trace was here, and watching his birth was one of the most memorable and amazing things I have ever seen. Tamara was AMAZING during delivery and afterwards of course! T, T & t are so happy and healthy at home that it just warms my heart every time I see them. They have settled into parenthood better then anyone I have ever seen and Trevor is doing amazing at taking care of his newest addition and wife. I am so proud of him, I couldn't imagine a more involoved husband and father then him, and I know that their family is going to be so peaceful and happy for it!

So what started out as a horrible week ended on the most amazing note I could ask for. I am so happy to offically be an auntie I can't even express it to you, and looking at little Trace just sends pangs throughout my heart. Thank you Tamara and Trevor for allowing me to share in your very special moment, and I can't wait to raise our kids together!

Well there is my long update for the last couple weeks. Updates are going to be fewer and farther between, as I need to focus on work, so can't post during the week, but I promise to try and update over the weekends! Next weekend is Ty's 3rd birthday, so I am sure I will have lots to say after that. SO EXCITING!

Love you, everyone!
Brittnie
