It's a long one

It has been a long times since I posted something, so this one might be a bit lengthy, but here is the DL on the family.

Christmas:
Christmas was amazing. Ty got some pet fish, a big ol dinosaur from uncle Trevor and Auntie Tamara (that he was terrified of at first, it was really cute), and easel for all his coloring stuff, a ride on bike that plays games on the TV from Grammie and Poppi (which we still haven't setup, because we don't have room), and so much more. We woke up in the morning, did christmas with our family, cooked a special breakfast then headed off to the Hervey family's condo. We had lunch and a nap there then went to the Eberl family X-mas for dinner and a movie. It was a very fun filled day but needless to say, we were all exhausted by the end of it all. Next year I am pretty sure we will have to ask everyone to come to our place, as I don't think I can cart around three kids ;0)

New years:
This was a very uneventful day for us. Poor Ricky is stuck at home with a kid that goes to bed at 8pm, and a wife who is prego and ALWAYS tired. I was in bed by 9pm, I am pretty sure Ricky was asleep on the couch by ten and we only woke up at midnight because of all the fireworks going off. When I woke up I went downstairs to find a just awoken Ricky, gave him a kiss, and headed back to bed. Sounds kinda sad, but hey, I wouldn't have picked any other way to celebrate this new years. I think Ricky is glad to here more pregnancies or kids post this set of twins is not an option. I don't really think he likes this tired bitchy phase ;0) He is ultra supportive though, and never complains :)

General updates:
Ricky is doing well. He enjoyed his week and a half at home with the family, so much so I don't think any of us were ready to go back to work when the new year arrived. He was super productive while he was on vacation too. Shoveling the steps and driveway so I didn't fall on my prego butt, cleaning the downstairs out getting ready for it to become the kids play room, doing the dishes, cooking the dinners or getting the dinners if necessary. All without a single grump. He is going to need a vacation from his family soon :)

Ty is good as always. Definitely a 2 year old, but good. He is pushing every button, and venturing further and further into Independence. He has transitioned successfully to a big boy bed which has been a huge worry for me. I was afraid I would be up all night putting him back to bed, but he has been great, and only comes out of his room when he is done sleeping. The down side is he is waking up in the middle of the night with blood curdling screams sometimes, and god is the only one that knows what is wrong with that kid. There have been a couple nights that my patience has been tested further then ever before, and I will tell you, being emotional, tired, and prego, is not helping me deal with that. It is getting much better over the past few nights, but it is still an adjustment. He met me at his door this morning at 5:45am, blankey in hand, with a smile on his face, ready to get in the car, turn on his ultimate fav movie Nemo and be on his way to school. THANK GOD FOR PORTABLE DVD PLAYERS, I would have paid triple the price for my peace in the car rides now.

The twins are growing and healthy. According to babycenter.com they are both the size of apples now, though they feel more like a small watermelon. The doc measured them out last week, and they both measured within a day of their current age, so all is perfect. They are 60% sure they are girls right now. I have to go in to see a specialist next month to do the full work up and get the 100% answer for the sex, as they are already squeezed in there, but I didn't see anything poking out between their legs :). The doctor said the biggest concern from here on out, if anything, is pre-term labor, I am past the critical point for miscarriage, and there are no concerns. At 20 weeks, which is 5 weeks away, they state I will look full term. Scary, but every week I do notice the waist in my pants only getting tighter. I will be forced into maternity wear before you know it, but I am hanging on to my normal attire and just stringing things together with rubber bands as much as possible ;0) At 20 weeks they start seeing me every other week to be sure I do not start effacing, which would mean pre-term labor could happen. At 28 weeks I go in weekly to check my cervix, and the doc says if they choose to come out anywhere from 32 weeks on, he's gonna let it happen, but would prefer they wait to at least 35 so they are a really healthy weight. When they did the ultrasound you could see one of the girls squished to the very bottom of my uterus, while the other one laid half on top of her and bounced her head up and down. You can definitely start to see there is a pushy one in there, I wonder where she could have gotten those genes from? I have a couple ultrasound pics, but need to get them scanned before I can post.

Well that is it for my lengthy catch up post. I am sure I missed something, but that's enough for now. Chat at you soon!

Love Brie!

How did you find that test blog Luciana for the cure? LOL That's just something I created to look at the new Blogger features. The real blog is still at http://luciana.misura.org :-) Any big plans for Ty's 2nd bday?
